Agreed on the price management. But switching routing within NYC at the airport is not all that difficult as a 1k, and if they're selling your desired flight at $228 RT now, I'm guessing there's plenty of inventory left (even for a PS flight). I've done this many times ex-SFO from JFK to EWR (and vice versa), when my flight is delayed.
