perhaps a bit of both?
Instead of sitting across the aisle from each other why don't you book 1a and 2 k?
That way if one of you finds 1a too claustrophobic/noisy(wonder how many people actually access the closet on an overnight?-that would be the only disturbance)then you can switch.
