I know there is no way to reprice my LAX-LGA to lowered fare LAX-JFK now. Just a rant

updated: see post #26 below if you're curious for an update on what happened with the attempt to standby, etc on the day of departure

Just a rant. Last weekend, I had to jump and buy LAX-LGA for $250rt, because the departure date was getting close, and everything else into the NYC area (EWR, JFK) was rising up to >$400. I would have preferred JFK for the ps service, but time was running out and I didn't want to get stuck for a really expensive ticket by waiting even more.

Now today I find that LAX-JFK for this weekend has dropped to $228 out of UA's desperation to sell tickets. For *@&#$ sake. And now, because I was "forced" to fly my non ideal route (with a connection no less), I can't refare to the cheaper JFK routing.

arrrrgh. Way to offer some pricing consistency for your customers, UA... (on the other hand, I'm sure some people will appreciate the last minute bargain, which I don't have the luxury of enjoying)
