Just to second the Bintan thing.........you have more probability of getting a serious disease from a mosquito bite in New York City than you do in Bintan. The Singaporeans cleaned the hell out of that island, your medication for one bite was a waste of time.

There was a time that I was all concerned and took all sorts of meds, now unless I am going somewhere where they have the cerebral type (where I generally do not go) or an somewhere less than a week that has milder forms, I do not bother (Asia, Central America, Southern Africa).
