In a thread full of hyperbole and histrionics, this post takes the cake. With an on-time arrival into MIA, one would easily make a 55-minute connection. And of the thousands of people who connect in MIA with 55-minute connection times every day, most make it. The risk, of course, is that the ORD-MIA flight arrives late, and that can happen at any airport, not just MIA.
MIA is a big airport with lots of passengers, many of whom speak languages other than English. But it's still just an airport, and is not at all difficult to navigate. The terminals are designated by letters, which fortunately go in the order of the alphabet. The gates are designated by numbers, which also go in order. I've never before met the OP, but I'm guessing he'll be able to find his gate just fine.
