Linking Bookings and Pre-flight Seat Allocation
Hi,
Not sure what I could have done differently in this situation but the outcome is not ideal. I am travelling to Dubai on business and decided to bring my wife along for some R&R using BA Miles. I made her miles booking, as I have to, through the BA website and my booking, as I have to, on our EBTA card lodged with Amex travel. So I end up with two bookings even though we are travelling together and always intended to. The outcome of this is that I get to pre-book the nice seats but I can't do the same for my wife as she doesn't have a silver card in her own right.
No problem I thought, ring BA and they will sort it out on the phone. No such luck, first time I call I speak to reservations, they can link my booking but they can't put my wife next to me. I call back second time and speak to Customer Services, they can't do it either but they will said they will put a request through to Seating.
I know from past experience this is just a question of authority levels and had I still been a Premier Card Holder it would have been fixed immediately. Question is, now I am a humble Silver Card holder, is waiting for Seating to move my wife the right thing to do?
Thanks in advance.
Pete
