$149 sounds like a bargain - ($6.48/kg for a 23kg bag) traveling from East coast USA to Asia via Europe. SQ charge excess baggage at rates of between $8.00/kg (short haul) through to $60/kg. I’m mystified as to the logic behind the discrepancy but pleased it worked out for you.
