Much to my surprise I now notice that UA's website offers me a whole host of 1-stop connections via LAX! And the LAX-YYC is on AC metal! Does anyone know why AC's website never shows these flights? It just seems odd that I would be forced to book through UA to fly AC-metal via LAX...
Also odd that I can buy a discounted F ticket on UA.com on a UA code-share on AC metal (LAX/LAS to/from YYZ/YUL) for less than 1/2 the price of the same J class seat on the same AC flight.
But we are talking about an airline whose IT department hasn't been able to get a moving map to function on most planes for a couple of years.
