You could also take a bus to Freising, an city close by the airport with an nice cathedral, an historic city center and the home of Weihenstephan Brewery, one of the (maybe the) oldest breweries in the world.

The bus runs every 20 mins, takes about 15 minutes and from there it is about a 10 minute walk to downtown
