I've stayed at the Caracas Hilton five or six times over the last couple of years. Excellent service, excellent restaurants and a outdoor bar/buffet/restaurant with live music and dancing poolside. The neighborhood is not bad, but this is Caracas we are talking about. Don't walk anywhere.
I've also stayed at the Best Western CCCT and found it to be acceptable and less money.
Lately I've been staying at the Intercontinental Tamanaco. Slightly better service than the Hilton and a magnificent pool. It is in the nicest shopping/nightlife area, Las Mercedes, and is a marvelous older hotel.
Someone told me that a new high end hotel is opening soon, not quite sure whether it is Four Seasons or who.
