Well, you were solely discussing consumer demand for food before flying, not costs or profit - hence my SYD example (which is just one of many). I do suspect, however, that you're right on the rents & wages.

Makes logical sense, although I'm not sure it's correct. For example, how successful are Bagel St and Nero in comparison? It also seems quiet on the way to the lounge near the escalators in Galleries South.

I suspect BAA simply don't want a McDonald's in there, judging by "Whether it’s a light bite or a full meal, the Terminal 5 dining experience raises the bar for quality cuisine on the move." on the website. I'm fine with that.
