I don't think it's a design in the card, I just think they have royally f"cked up my account somehow. What is really odd is that the additional card (which is plastic) works perfectly.
You said you managed to use it once... If you still have the receipt, you should check if the card number on your receipt is the same as the number on your card. With my first titanium card, that was not the case, so it stopped working after the first transaction.
