Infant tickets are your responsibility, just like visas. Delta will probably not (and shouldn't) take responsiblity for it.
The bags might get you something.
while i don't know the rules on infant travel, if the delta agent told them they were "good to go," then i would view that as something that delta is responsible for. that's just my opinion though
