In-flight GPS "hung" on recent 747 new-config flight?

I've not seen this before! On my 4/23 new-config C-cabin 747 from NRT to LAX, the in-flight GPS map showed the plane hovering somewhere over LAX with a flight track headed to NRT. All other IFE appeared to be working fine, but the FAs and Purser all stated they knew of the map problem and were afraid to try and fix it!

I laughed, but it seemed like an odd sort of hangup - that only the GPS went out. Also funny that the crew is afraid to reboot the system - especially since it seems obvious that the hang happened on the inbound leg...so could have been handled between flights.

Curious if anyone else has seen this sort of glitch?
