Maybe... but a lot of people do ask, especailly the people that cant get in the lounges....For a family it could cost at least £50 inc drinks (mum / dad / two kids) to eat in somewhere like wagamammas / gordon ramsays / wetherspoons, etc
Not really fair on the average traveller i think.
The trouble is, i think, that no one really cares about the "average joe" traveller, all they are interested in is the people with money and thats why there are probably some many designer shops in T5... EVne the WHsmiths are more expensive in T5 than they are in the other terminals... check it out next time...
