Something you might also consider is that NW gives free upgrades and Delta does not.

Last year, I only had silver status on CO, and was upgraded every time I flew on both CO and NW.

Delta does not provide this courtesy to frequent fliers. You can however pay $50 to get upgraded for a 1 hour flight. What a joke their FF program is!
