I'm staying at a Hampton Inn this week. I requested that they put my HH Gold number in the record when I checked in. They said the linkup doesn't start until 4/3, and since I'm checking out on 4/2 I wouldn't receive credit.

The irony here is that there are signs and balloons all over the lobby 'welcoming' HH members
