End. Mardi Gras is a month long festival that opens with a launch, has various film festivals, Fair Day, Harbour Party (20th), and culminates in the Parade (which begins around 8pm) and the after-party (10pm-10am). Sunday usually has a host of dance parties too but that's the end of the festival.

You'll have a blast, even if you get two days in. Lots of gays & lesbians migrate north to QLD after too.
