I will take up the suggestion to lobby the station manager though. Maybe it's a pricing program glitch that was never intended or has been misapplied.
I doubt it was a glitch. Presumably BA's pricing team intended it this way and this is based on a quantitative study using data they have but you do not. What you need to do is argue that the market segmentation is incorrect in that addressing the 3 night stay segment over the weekend only will make BA more money.
I think you are extremely unlikely to succeed in this but with the time and the inclination why not give it a go.
