I will take up the suggestion to lobby the station manager though. Maybe it's a pricing program glitch that was never intended or has been misapplied.
The pricing seems to be quite intentionally min 5 max 12 months on the fares and I cannot see what benefit writing to the station manager would have; they are not going to bring out new fares just for 1 person
