I think that HHonors is really off the mark with this "qualifying" stay stuff ... If it truly is a "loyalty" program, they should reward you for your loyalty and not just for paying higher rates. I think it's rediculous that they expect us to pay higher rates than we might otherwise be able to do just to earn nights/points.
I think Hilton needs to take a look at how Hyatt handles these things. A stay is a stay, regardless of the rate you paid or if you even paid for it, they all count towards qualifications and promotions. It truly rewards the loyal customer, regardless of how they are paying for that room.
