It really makes me wonder what would happen if one of these flights had to set down due to mechanical or medical. I would think that a US flaged Delta 777 landing at Kandahar, Tehran, Tripoli or even Baghdad or Beirut would cause plenty of headaches. It wouldn't be like we landed in Pyongyang - but still it would be a mess.

Does anyone know of this ever happening?
