Hi everyone - I was hoping to get some feedback regarding Mardi Gras 2010. My partner and I have an opp. to arrive in SYD on 3/26 (Right in time for the Parade). We are originally scheduled to arrived on March 12th.

1. What is the weather like that time of year? Primarily speaking about beach weather. I have gotten mixed responses as some people say Feb. is too hot and some say Mar. is too cold.

2. Is the whole event overwhelming - For example NYC Pride somewhat takes over the cities night-life and it becomes long lines, double prices, etc. For a first visit to AUS would you arrive to take part in the events or after to enjoy a more normal city experience.

We are still trying to plan our whole trip (Including SYD/CNS/MEL) so if anyone feels like chatting!
