Smoking in Non-Smoking Rooms
Anybody else had this problem? I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in South Natomas (Sacramento) this week and had stinky cigarette smoke coming through the connecting door. The room next door was also non-smoking. I complained to the front desk the next morning, giving them the room number, thinking they could do something about it, but the next night the smoke was once again leaking in.
At a recent Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza stay in San Jose I was happy to sign a statement saying that if I smoked in my non-smoking room I would be penalized. I can't remember the details, but I think it was a "fine" they would charge to my account. I thought this was a great idea.
Having just switched my stays from Marriott to Hilton, this is making me rethink this decision. I had a great stay here two weeks ago and have another reservation in two weeks, but it will be easy to go back to the nearby Marriott where in over a dozen stays last year this never happened.
Any ideas on how to deal with this in the future?
