I have done it twice under a hour...

One time on Asiana into the Tom Bradley Terminal then catching my US Air flight in Terminal 1.

One time on Virgin Atlantic into Terminal 2 then catching my America West flight in Terminal 1.

One factor is the number of international flights arriving at the 'same' time as well as the number of custom agents working.
