Thanks for all the great advice. I've travelled extensivly in Europe on trains so we're really comfortable with them.
The bad side is we're probably only going to have about 14-ish days. Maybe we can squeeze some more.
In that case really pick a region like I suggested. Otherwise you'll be stuck in the train too much versus actually getting out to visit sites or being stuck in a hotel bed.
