the bottom line of award tickets is pure marketing. Of course redemption availability will be most likely against pool of free seats whether you use points or the fly3 flyfree. They aren't going to allocate extra seats for the promo.
I've had lots of problems trying to redeem on 2 months or less notice. so, in the last 3 years, I force myself to plan 6 months or more in advance to redeem tickets. I've had no problems, but yes, planning 6 months ahead is kind of rough.
So, guys, if anyone wants to throw those vouchers my way, I can always use them.
My recommendation is to just plan way ahead.
