I had 3A/4A allocated on the 380 SIN/SYD right until the day before. Couldn't OLCI because booked on the BA codeshare. At check in I was given 4K/5K so I asked what gives? "It seems there is a technical fault with those seats so you had to be moved." On board F cabin was full and no evidence of any technical faults. Pretty sure someone checking in at LHR was given our seats. Not a huge deal but didn't appreciate being lied to.
OTOH, our 1A/1K for SYD/JNB was secured without problems - and stuck. (FWIW are both BA Gold.)
