skymiles unique partner activities: for canadians
With all the various promo offers that come up, (one just started today for up to 25000 skymiles).... As canadians we are limited especially when it comes to shopping partners. I was hoping we could start a thread of "qualified activities" for canadians. I'm not sure how many canadians there are on flyertalk or if there is a need for this, but here goes:
1. e-rewards redemption
2. points.com exchange (from hotspex, esso extra, hbc) (hbc and esso extra does not exclude minors to have a hbc card - so all 4 of us each have a unique card)
3. Hotel activity
4. Car rental activity
5. Lather.com ships to Canada (minimum shipping is $14.04. The cheapest things I can find to buy are the pump bottle cap for 1.50 followed by the lip balm for and additional 6.50)
6. Skymilesshopping:
For internation users T&C state:
Currently we require that you enter a valid US zip code to register. If you reside outside the United States, we suggest you choose a 5-digit zip code like 99999 to register. (For security purposes we ask for your zip code when you access your profile, so remember the zipcode that you used to register.) After you successfully register, nothing is preventing you from earning miles through merchants who agree to ship outside the U.S. Please note that not all merchants will ship internationally. Please check with each merchant's "Help" or "FAQ" page regarding international delivery before completing a purchase through SkyMilesShopping.com.
Stores that I have found that ship to Canada:
Zazzle.com 3.99 shipping for postcards and a couple other small things.
Discoverystore has a $10 flat shipping rate for dvd's and books only
REI has shipping to Canada but the minimum shipping charge is $16.
Disney store
Lane Bryant
Lather.com (used this successfully for a past promo)
Shutterfly.com (used this successfully for a past promo)
Land's end (shipping starts at $5.95
Just a note about itunes and Delta skymiles shopping. Unlike Worldperks mall, Delta T&C do not specifically exclude itunes purchased through Canada. However, I don't think the i-tunes canada purchases register with skymiles. I've done this before and the miles never show up.
I have successfully phoned in and received the missing miles but it's a huge hassle. Also keep in mind i-tunes only bill once or twice a week. Therefore if you make purchases within a week for different FF accounts but the same itunes account, they will all be on the same receipt as if one purchase. If you need proof of purchase to fight for your miles your sorta screwed.
7. Skydining rewards network
Again upon registering you need a zip however I've just done the 12345 and have gotten credited for my dines with no problems.
8. Transfer, gift or buy miles
Anyways, that is all I can think of for now. If you can think of anything, please add on, to help fellow canadians who are looking for unique partner activities.
