Had it said to me on an MFU to F (where it was referred to as a 'free ticket' twice) , an MFU to club, and a full redemption in F.... very ignorant, untrue and rather insulting IMHO- especially as they knew I was a gold card holder, so very obviously a regular passenger
I've had them call my MFU to CW a "Free Ticket" as well. Also, whenever there has been a flight cancellation or misconnect and I am on a MFU I suddenly become persona non grata and am offered a myriad of choices such as waiting till the next day to travel in my original booking class and giving up my upgrade to CW, flying same day on AA in coach but "you have to run!" .
I most recently upgraded a CW to First and was very hesitant because I felt that if any problems occurred I would be treated as someone on a free ticket. Ultimately I decided to go ahead and upgrade because I have long connection times.
