I'm sure it was an issue of computers not "talking" to one another - but it was obvious I had a multi ticket itinerary in the BA ticket system, with even the LHR-SEA leg showing up as confirmed in their online system. I remember reading something about BA layoffs and/or possible stike and thought that perhaps morale might be a bit low.
Dunno - it seemed to be pretty tough to make it very far up the decision making ladder with BA, either on the phone before the flight, or at the terminal in person. I will say their "Club World" product is superior IMHO to many US based airlines long haul 1st class - once you get on board.
