Premium passengers have usually paid a lot of money to avoid queues - by being amongst the first off the aircraft, premium pax will be through immigration a lot quicker, particularly important where a Fast Track lane is not provided.
And when offering paid upgrades at LGW we're told to advise passengers that priority boarding and disembarkation are benefits of a premium cabin. It's a selling point that's often not given.
