Maybe for you, but all of us near the left coast will rarely find anything in the $400 price range, with $700-900 more typical and >$1000 not unusual during the summer months (this year excepted).

Another huge benefit is that the u/g certs apply to the connections (if available) - and typically I find it hard to get two 'normal' upgrades on PHX-PHL.

Next month we are flying PHX-MXP in FC/Envoy all the way with the piece of mind of having everything confirmed.
