Somebody clue me in on this "confirmable upgrade certificates". I am gold...never heard of 'em, never seen one. I book my reservation, (lowest rate available), upon check-in I submit my AMEX along with my Gold Hhonors card and then....batta boom, batta bang....upgraded! (As long as there is room at the Inn). I did this in Houston and rate I paid was $55/night! My experience in PHX -- upon check in I was automatically upgraded based upon the Gold Hhonors status to a wonderful 2-story mini-condo (with private sundeck). It's good to be gold!!
