Actually, as long as passengers are on the aircraft, the crew can instruct them to do what they like (within reason)

WTP passengers did not pay as much as F passengers, and therefore should expect to be held back so that F passengers can avoid the queues.
Depends on your view of whats reasonable.

The failure in the example given is operational procedures not being followed (door 2 disembarcation instead of door 1) and frankly, is BA's problem.

Whilst I've no problem waiting at the top of the stairs for F to exit on a 747, or indeed waiting down the back for everyone to exit, I'll be damned if I'm forced to wait in my seat to solve a problem that ultimately is BA's problem (outsource the action, not the responsibility).
