Other carriers have a PIN which verified identity.
I don't understand the credit card thing -- UA seems to do that to purchases online sometimes as well, and I don't understand the logic.
If it's a new card, maybe that's fine. But if it's for future travel several months down the road, if it were fraud, don't you think it would be reported as a fraudulent transaction by then?
