Our favorite is the Pensione Accademia Villa Maravege . We arrived after dark in a water taxii. The boat driver got out on the tiny dock and pressed a button by the gate. We could hear someone running through the garden and suddenly the gate was flung open and light flooded us with the sight of a beautiful garden and charming hotel. One of the most romantic moments of all our trips to Europe. It's not cheap nor is it easy to book, but there is a website and if you can get them in, they will love it. Pay for the better rooms, cheaper ones may not be as nice.
