I used the ex-destination strategy and that was the price. I actually fly (well, I live in Toronto) ex-YYZ and for the last 4 years have been buying MGA YYZ MGA vs the other way around so I can capitalize (or used to) on a $500 price differential with TACA, same idea. The tickets get confusing though always using the end of A then the start of B, etc. Never a round trip on one ticket number.

The fact the price is D and the fare rules are for JCC, fully open/refundable is normal I guess, just based on supply of D fares. There were no rules like in the case of I fares. Just JCC.
