Same thing happened to me, a Brit living in Argentina. I filled out the info on aa.com for an itinerary a couple of weeks back. When I checked a few days before departure, the country of residence had been changed to the UK and I had to manually change it back to Argentina again. Definitely a bug in the system somewhere that seems to want to match the country of residence to country of citizenship.
