My surname is pronounced as it's spelled - an anglicised version of an oldish Saxon name - but it trips up people frequently. Inserting one letter turns it into a rather silly but common word, and I get called that a lot.
Those who give it a go and get it right get a big smile and thank you, and those who try but don't manage it get.....a big smile, very quick correction and a thanks for trying.
It's a little thing, but I'm always impressed when cabin crew, even in W, have a go at pax's names.
