I've been impressed a few times in my flying life recently.

-Air NZ who on boarding said "welcome aboard Mr. GVA, seat 3F let me take you there" and continued to do so.
-United on a IAD-SFO this year where upon deplaning the purser thanked me by surname for flying with them.
-BA on a GVA-LGW where in CE the purser already addressed me by surname when picking up my coat and continued to do the same for everyone on the whole trip even for a glass of water.

I don't have that complicated a surname (although not English). I'd like to think I've now heard all different ways in which my name can be pronounced - but people continue to invent new ones.

I personally don't care unless it is pronounced way off. Generally I just resort to spelling my name out rather than saying my name as I know people probably won't be able to spell it afterwards anyways.
