Many changes since US Diners became badged as a MasterCard in the US (and Canada, iirc?) - discussed in the Diners Club Club Rewards Forum.

You need to cash to pay the departure taxes at UIO. Diners Club has a kiosk claiming that you can use their card to pay for the tax ... however it does not cover USA card holders !?
Your Diners Club, however, will get one person into the club
So even tough both are operated by Diners Club, your USA Diners Club will work for some things and not for some other things at UIO. Great work in confusing their customers.
As for lounge access en route to the Galápagos, I rather think not - particularly on TAME, a domestic airline branch of the Ecuadorian Air Force. (At least they have improved their act to the point there are PFDs / life jackets for ALL passengers these days.)
But what do the Regus and Priority Pass website access pages say about UIO lounges and access? (Hint: Regus = Nada. DN = Airport Lounge UIO and PP = Sala VIP.)

We are planning a trip to UIO for Galapagos and would like to know as well.
Not going to be a deal breaker either. All the way on AA.
