It's rare for an airline's advertising to actually make me want to fly it less, but that's exactly what Southwest's latest ad is doing.
See, LAX-BWI used to be one of my favorite Southwest flights.
Now they're running idiiotic ads (in the Los Angeles market) about "don't like to stop?" for new "nonstop" service between
SNA and SFO. Huh? Like since when does a competing airline offer SNA to SFO flights (that anyone other than a mileage runner would actually consider) that
does involve stops???
So all this stupid ad does is remind me of TRUE (longer) nonstops that Southwest no longer flies, which puts another reminder in my head that I like Southwest less than I used to.
And everyone who's mentioned this ad campaign at work -- I work near SNA -- thinks it's quite stupd too.
What was the thinking behind touting "nonstop" of all routes on SNA-SFO?!?!?
