Well, I sent an email explaining the matter to EK.
It got read within 24 hours (via auto message display). I got a reply this evening (less than 48 hours after sending it) that the matter will be looked into.
Will see how it goes. This has been the fastest turn around of complaint/compliments.
Things seem to be improving with Emirates.
