Sydney people put up with aircraft noise from 06:00 to 23:00. It is a part of the nature of living in Sydney. What is not acceptable is for aircraft to push the limit with breaking the curfew. Be it a RAAF VIP flight for the PM or equivalent, a quiet 380 or an effing noisey 727. The dispensations on a case by case basis is too open to politicisation and should only be for emergencies.

I say stop the 05:00 to 06:00 34L arrivals and hammer those who choose to operate at or beyond 1 minute after 23:00. The rules are not ambiguous. Surely crew know how long it will take to get from A to B and if they are close to the 23:00, well thats their problem (and expense).

I am quite happy to have aircraft overhead only during the 06:00 to 23:00 window for operations. That is not unreasonable.
