Is the Lake Shore Limited a better option than Empire Service trains for an upcoming trip between ALB and NYP? Basically, are the Coach seats standard long-distance train seats- with tons more legroom than regular Northeast train coach seats?

I also see that I can upgrade to a Viewliner roomette for under $75- that's a really good deal. Is a meal included in the trip (leaves at 3:30pm, arrives at 6:25pm)?
