I am not sure about DME and HEL, but WAW could be done as a same day turnaround, it is a 4 hour flight, so I imagine a schedule like
LIS-WAW 10.00-14.00
WAW-LIS 15.00-19.00
would still offer a nice connections to RIO,SAO and a few more destinations.
Indeed. And same could be done with HEL (just more 40 mins. of flight each way). DME already has it on days 1 and 6:

True, true. Unless there is a JV, even carriers within the same alliance will (sometimes fiercely) compete with one another. It's up to TP to try to cater these pax to its flights instead of LH's. Hopefully with better service than the one you got in your last flight...
