What a sad commentary on the state of aviation security that people wonder if the screening authorities will accept light blue clear bags rather than colorless clear bags. Canada and the United States combined spend roughtly $6 billion (U.S.) per year on screening, and whether a bag is clear is still a concern. Rather than throwing that huge amount of money into a workfare program, Canada and the U.S. should spend a few dollars on technology to detect threats to airliners, such as explosives.
