Hi Guys,
Hope someone may be able to help, just got to the airport for my flight home (LAX-LHR) and they told me I cannot fly with my ohlins motorcycle shock absorber in checked baggage. I was able to bring my one bag from PHL a couple of years back so never even considered it to be a problem.

Any ideas how I can proceed? Currently the shock is being held in storage in LAX (by BA). I've been told to sort this out from the UK.

The shock has no hazardous material at all, I can only think the problem is that the staff are unsure what it is...
