This section on their policy is needlessly ambiguous. It's very clear from the first line that you are allowed to make a stand by request 24 hours before the flight leaves, but the second line muddies it up with the "12 hours from when you are making the request." leading to agent confusion. It should be "12 hours from your original scheduled flight."
Perhaps it's not ambiguous at all, on second thought:
1. You can make the stand-by request within 24 hours of your original flight, but at this point, the second clause implies that the new flight request must depart exactly 12 hours earlier than the original flight in order to meet both these requirements.
The second clause implies that, indeed, one cannot make the SDC more than 12 hours before the new booking.
